Both of us had a day off today. So went for a trip around the Ashmolean lots to see here. Its our second visit since it has been ‘doneup’. On our first trip we went to the Egypt galleries, very interesting especially since we had just returned from our Egyptian Nile cruse. This time we visited the Cast galleries and England early history. Finished the visit with a coffee and tea in the Ashmolean Dining Room which is, apparently, Oxford’s first rooftop restaurant. There are spectacular views across the city. You can sit outside when the weather is nice. After all that, we ended up at Wetherspoons  , The Four Candles, down George Street for Steak ‘nite’. £18 for three drinks, two steaks and two puddings. Now to watch England’s qualifying match against Montenegro.
