Not a good start with a stop at the Little Chef costing 10 quid for 2 coffees and toast and teacakes and I thought they were cheap.
But the sun came out, ferry crossing was great taking just over 30 minutes from Portsmouth. The Castle Hotel at Ryde was nice. Owned by the Old English Inns group.

Lunch followed, even better.
Visited Osborne House, Carisbrooke Castle and Brading Roman villa, amongst others. Had some good meals in the hotel and a nice curry.
Interestingly, the day we visited Osborne House, the favourite home of Queen Victoria, was the day she died 110 years ago, spooky.
Great weekend and good weather for January. All over so quick.
